No flat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2023\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No flat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No flat.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They kept paying EMIs on a home loan.<br>And rent the house they were living in.<br>For 6 years they paid double.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2025 they approached RERA.<br>The builder kept asking for extensions.<br>They moved to the consumer court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2025 ruling:<br>The builder was ordered to refund \u20b946 lakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Plus 19% interest from 2019.<br>That\u2019s \u20b946 lakh becoming \u20b91.06 crore.<br>The builder was delayed by 6 years.<br>The court added \u20b960 lakh in interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your builder has delayed possession \u2013 you have two options: RERA or consumer court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both can order interest on your money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most homebuyers don\u2019t know they can get interest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A couple in Chennai booked a flat in 2019.
